The Studio

Although my real studio, and the place I prefer to be, is the beautiful and wonderful outdoors, my physical studio is a small space in Raleigh.  That is also where I do editing of images and all those rather unexciting parts of running a photography business.  Those outside the industry, who see only the results of a photographer’s work, are viewing not just a photograph but also the 2 to 3 times additional effort spent in the studio editing, preparing and running a business; the much more mundane, not very glamorous and often not at all creative tasks most of which I call monkey work.  Nevertheless, the studio is where it all gets put together.

Below is my indoor studio.  It appears somewhat disheveled but gets the work done.  The open space in the middle is for setting up portraits and other indoor photographs.  A little tight but very efficient.
